European Women's football - Bayern, Chelsea, Manchester clubs recorded wins this weekend

Last weekend, one game was played in the German Cup and league matches were played in England and Spain. Bayern Munich advanced to the quarter-finals of the German Cup. On Sunday from the English FA WSL, the clubs from Manchester won while Chelsea continued their unbeaten run with a win.

Primera Iberdrola:

A very interesting result on Thursday match between Levante and Atletico which was played as part of the 17th round of the Spanish Primera Iberdrola. The third team in the table, Levante UD took on Atletico Madrid and confidently beat their rivals from the country's capital 3-0. Thus, the Levante players got their revenge for the defeat of Atletico in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, which took place two weeks ago. Atletico then won 3-0. On Thursday's match, the Levante players took advantage of the carelessness of their opponents' defense, scoring two goals after simple mistakes of the Atletico defenders. In the Spanish Primera Iberdrola, we have an interesting situation, because as many as six teams are currently fighting for the Champions League spots. The teams: Atletico Madrid, CCF Madrid, alongside Real Madrid and Levante have a chance to play in prestigious competitions. Real Sociedad and Granadilla Tenerife, sixth and seventh in the table from the top 3 teams are just four points away. The level of the games is therefore very balanced and we can expect a lot of excitement later in the season.

Bayern's scored 13 past third tier Walddörfer SV:

In the 1/8 final of the German Cup, the Bayern Munich players organized a scoring festival. The team from Munich faced the significantly lower-ranked team, Walddörfer SV, which is competing on the third level of the league on a daily basis. The Bayern players defeated their opponents as much as 13: 0 and thus secured their promotion to the quarter-finals, where they will face Hoffenheim. Walddörfer SV managed to successfully defend themselves until 18 minutes when Lea Schuller scored the first goal of the game. After this hit of the young representative of the country, the bag with goals was dissolved for good and the Bayern Munich players found their way to the opponents' net twelve more times, thus confirming their excellent performance. Lea Schuller scored five goals in this match, 18-year-old Gia Corley scored twice, and Lina Magull, Sydney Lohmann, Marina Hegering, Klara Buhl, Linda Dallmann and Julia Pollak added one goal each. For the players of the third division Walddörfer SV it was certainly a valuable football lesson.

FA WSL:

Chelsea Women vs Tottenham Women:

As part of the Sunday competition on the fields of the English FA WSL, the players of two London teams - Chelsea and Tottenham - were the first to enter the field. The Blues players are currently the league's leaders and boast the best defense in the league, with just six goals conceded in twelve games played so far. Their rivals are seventh in the English FA WSL. The London Derby had a great start for the Spurs players. In the 14th minute of the match, Ria Percival shot from a distance, and Ann-Katrin Bergen showed a great intervention in Chelsea's goal. The home team's goalkeeper parried the ball to the post and saved the team from conceding a goal. In the first twenty minutes of the match, Tottenham's team was doing better. However, thanks to Melanie Leupolz, Chelsea managed to take the lead in this duel. The German player received the ball in the middle of the field and gave a fantastic shot from a distance, defeating the visiting goalkeeper. Leupolz's hit can easily be counted among the candidates for the goal of the season.

Emma Hayes' side followed suit and less than two minutes later they raised the score to 2-0. Fran Kirby opted for a rally on the right, from which she ran to Pernille Harder, who ran into the box, and Dunka defeated Aurora Mikalsen. The Tottenham goalkeeper capitulated for the third time in the 38th minute of the Derby match, when the Spurs defensive error resulted in the ball being placed in the net by the hosts' striker Sam Kerr. Pernille Harder noted the assist with her hit. After the break, the Home team added another goal. Melanie Leupolz used a penalty kick, scoring a double in this match. In this part of the game, London's Chelsea still dominated the pitch, but failed to beat the visitors' goalkeeper. The Blues soccer players beat Tottenham in the London derby to consolidate their position at the top of the FA WSL English table.

Manchester City vs West Ham:

In the last two matches in the English FA WSL, Manchester City players scored a total of fourteen goals against their opponents. Before the start of the tournament, the team's capabilities in the context of the fight for the championship were questioned. The beginning of the season in the performance of coach Gareth Taylor's players did not look promising, but the team jumped into the highest speed and is not going to slow down. On Sunday afternoon, the Manchester City players hoped to maintain their winning streak against West Ham, who placed tenth in the league table. For the first goal in this match, the players who played in light blue uniforms did not keep us waiting long. In the ninth minute, Caroline Weir entered the list of shooters and the Home team was in the lead at the Academy Stadium. Two quarters of an hour later the players from Manchester increased their lead. In the little confusion in the West Ham penalty area, Georgia Stanway was most alert. The young England international with a shot from the right foot placed the ball just below the crossbar of a goal guarded by Mackenzie Arnold. By the break, the result had not changed. After returning to the field, the Home team confirmed their good form in the last weeks. In the 64th minute of the match, Alex Greenwood's corner kicked the ball, and the team's forward Ellen White scored a nice header. For White, this is the seventh goal of the English FA WSL this season. Less than eight minutes later, Rose Lavelle took advantage of an unfortunate mistake of one of the West Ham defenders and a strike from the left foot changed the score to 4-0 for Manchester City. Ultimately, we did not see any more goals in this game. The Citizens remain third in the league table and with 41 goals they are currently the team with the most goals in the FA Women's Super League.

Everton vs Machester United:

At Walton Hall Park stadium, local Everton players took up Manchester United. After a very successful beginning of the season, the players of the Toffees lost points against the top teams and recorded a draw with the average Reading. Their rivals this season FA WSL are looking very good and are considered to be among the candidates for the championship title. The visitors took the lead quite quickly in the eighth minute of the match when Ella Toone used the uncertain intervention of the Everton goalkeeper. United's young forward put the ball in the net and coach Casey Stoney led the way at Walton Hall Park. Three minutes later Christen Press was close to boosting the score, but the American's hit was too weak to surprise Sandy MacIver. Later in the match, the game was even, with a slight indication of the visiting team, which created more dangerous opportunities to score. Just before the break, the Manchester United players increased their lead. Hayley Ladd played a splendid ball to Christen Press, who made the game 2-0 with a firm kick. After returning to the field, the Everton players tried to make up for the losses in the first half. Jill Scott was close to scoring a goal for her team, a strong long-distance shot from the player who recently switched from Manchester City to Everton defended Mary Earps with confidence. It was actually the only dangerous situation the home team managed to create for themselves. In the second half of the game, the game was played mostly in the middle of the pitch. Manchester United players did not lose their concentration until the very end and took three points from the difficult terrain. Thanks to this win, Manchester United are level with London's Chelsea, but the players from the capital of the country have one more match leftover.
